Empire examples of armed actors

Here are examples of real Empire magazine covers which also feature actors armed and in defensive stances. This research can help inspire the image type of cover image we are looking for.

Planning magazine cover photo

We were aiming for an image that showed our actor in a defensive or scared pose as this suggests she is scared for or fighting for her life.

Empire magazine

My group and I have chosen Empire as the film magazine our horror trailer will feature on the cover of, Empire is a well established and popular magazine giving cover pages to some of the best  and latest films.  Having done some initial research into the magazine's covers, I think this will be perfect for our horror as they feature some of the biggest blockbusters in creative and attractive ways unique to the film.

Original magazine cover image

Originally we had planned to use an image of our antagonist; the Taker on our magazine cover however after researching film magazine covers featuring horrors (particularly empire) we came to the conclusion that it was unconventional to feature a horror villain, when looking back at our early research into horror films we recalled that it was vital for the antagonist to remain hidden and mysterious. Featuring and interviewing the actor would mean giving away an important factor in our narrative.
Now we are considering using our main characters for the exclusive featuring on our magazine cover.

Trouble with macs

We've currently had to restart our whole editing process for a second time, due to the Apple Mac not automatically saving our work. This is becoming fustrating and means we have now separated so Jamel and I work on the supporting texts and Deborah continues editin. despite nearing our deadline with only a quater of the time to work with that we were give this does mean we are learning to edit faster and not hang on to any mediocre ideas.

role playing our shots

we have gone out with a camera around our location (the school) acting and testing out how the shots will play out realistically. This will give our actors a better idea of what we expect from each shot.
this brought to our attention that we need to adjust some shots and perhaps include more. For example tryout different locations and angles.
